Solar Thermal Energy System
HLT Energies makes an estimate of your energy needs based on the number of inhabitants per home. With this evaluation, we can recommend the number of solar collectors and water tank size required to meet up to 60% of your water heating energy needs.
Domestic water heating
A solar water heating system can provide hot water for showers, dishwasher, laundry, kitchen, etc. Imagine the savings you can make, given that 20% of the energy consumed in a home is dedicated to water heating.
Our system
A system consists of solar collectors (1), a control unit (2) and a water tank (3).
1- The solar collector absorbs solar radiation. The energy absorbed heats up the food-grade heat transfer fluid circulating through the solar panel.
2- After circulating through the solar collectors, the heated transfer fluid goes into a heat exchanger.
3- Through a process of heat exchange, the heat transfer fluid heats up the water contained in the solar reserve (NOTE: there in no mixture between the water and the heat transfer fluid).
4- The heated water then circulates through the solar reserve, and then on to the hot water tank of the building where it is ready to be used or, in some cases, to be further heated by your current water heating system. The current system also serves the purpose of a back-up system during cloudy periods and at night.
